  1. I think this is a great idea. RV’s certainly are not typically green. I am not a mechanic, but I have a lift in my garage for my cars and have rebuilt a transmission or two. Here are some thoughts:
    1. While heat does kill transmissions, there are other important factors in transmission longevity. Price out a replacement trans now and determine availability in a pinch.
    2. Use only synthetic fluids

    Obviously this is a minimalist approach to RVing and is akin the tiny house phenomena. I often wonder if I minimalist approach is a bit inefficient, as smaller things tend to wear out faster, given the same use. In addition, the lack of storage leads to an inability to get economies of scale by purchasing things in bulk.
